Speed Darlington to appear before NAPTIP over disturbing video

The National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP) has asked Nigerian singer Speed Darlington, whose real name is Darlington Okoye, to appear at their office in Abuja. He is expected to show up on Friday, May 30th, 2025, by 9 a.m. without fail.

This comes after a live video on Instagram went viral, where Speed Darlington allegedly said he had sexual relations with a 15-year-old girl in a hotel. The agency says he needs to answer questions about what he said in that video.

In a letter sent to the singer on May 28th, NAPTIP explained that if the claims are true, his actions could break the law under the Trafficking in Persons Act of 2015. They take such matters seriously, especially when it involves minors.

NAPTIP also advised Speed Darlington to respond and cooperate with them. They warned that if he ignores the request, they may be forced to take stronger legal action against him.
