Plateau Killing: Pastor Reveals How Soldiers Sought Fulani Attackers Permission

A shocking revelation has emerged from Plateau State, where a Jos-based pastor claimed that soldiers had to seek permission from Fulani militants before retrieving the corpses of victims killed in an attack on Dong community, Jos North Local Government Area.

The pastor, who made the claim in a viral Facebook video on Monday, said the attack left several people dead, including a woman and her child who had gone to the community for a condolence visit. He explained that church members were unable to enter the area after the attack and had to call for military assistance to recover the bodies.

According to him, when the soldiers arrived, they reportedly contacted the same Fulani attackers to request clearance before moving into the community. The militants allegedly granted them just 10 minutes to collect the corpses and leave. “The soldiers told us to hurry up,” the pastor recounted. “They said they were only allowed 10 minutes to remove the bodies before leaving the area.”

He added that despite the tension and fear, the victims were eventually buried, though the community was left in shock over the military’s reliance on the attackers’ permission. The pastor described the situation as “heartbreaking and humiliating,” questioning why security forces should negotiate with those responsible for the killings.

Residents of Dong and nearby areas have since called for stronger security intervention and justice for the victims. The incident has sparked fresh outrage across Plateau State, where attacks by suspected Fulani militias have continued despite repeated government assurances of peace and protection.
