Flamengo manager, Filipe Luis is sacked immediately after winning 8-0 against Madureira.

Flamengo have parted ways with head coach Filipe Luis just hours after guiding the team to an 8-0 victory over Madureira in the Campeonato Carioca semi-final. Assistant coach Ivan Palanco and physical trainer Diogo Linhares also left the club alongside him.

Despite the emphatic win, Flamengo supporters had expressed frustration with the team, chanting “shameless” during the match. The club currently sits 11th in the Serie A with one win and one draw from three games.

Luis, 40, joined Flamengo in September 2025, replacing Tite, and managed 100 games while winning seven trophies, including the 2025 Copa Libertadores, Serie A, Copa do Brasil, Supercopa do Brasil, and Campeonato Carioca. He became the ninth person to win the Libertadores as both player and coach.

Before leading the senior team, Luis coached Flamengo’s U-17 and U-20 sides to league titles, cementing his reputation in youth development before stepping up to the professional squad.
