Nigeria’s former president, Muhammadu Buhari, has passed away. The sad news of his death has shocked many Nigerians and people across the world.

Bashir Ahmad, who was Buhari’s former aide, shared the news on X (formerly known as Twitter), confirming the former president’s passing.

“INNA LILLAHI WA INNA ILAIHIR RAJI’UN. The family of the former president has confirmed his passing this afternoon at a clinic in London. May Allah grant him Aljannatul Firdaus. Amen,” Bashir wrote in his post.

Buhari died at the age of 82 and is survived by his wife, Aisha Buhari, and their children. Muhammadu Buhari became Nigeria’s president in 2015 and completed his tenure in 2023, when he handed over power to President Bola Tinubu.
