Sanwo-Olu Celebrates 2025 International Women’s Day (pictures)

Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu joined the women of Lagos State to celebrate International Women’s Day 2025 at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena.

He assured them that his administration remains committed to empowering women through policies and programs that ensure they are recognized and supported.

Sanwo-Olu emphasized the importance of gender equality and inclusiveness in Lagos State’s development, aligning with the state’s THEMES+ agenda.

He highlighted that this year’s theme, “Accelerate Action,” encourages everyone to take real steps toward breaking barriers and promoting equal opportunities for women.

The governor pointed out that Lagos is not just talking about women’s empowerment but actively implementing policies that support women in different sectors. His administration has introduced various initiatives that help women become self-sufficient, develop leadership skills, and participate fully in the economy.

He also called on men to join the movement for gender equality, saying that true progress happens when men and women work together. Sanwo-Olu assured that the government will continue to take deliberate action to create an inclusive environment and remove obstacles that prevent women from thriving.

With these efforts, Lagos State aims to ensure sustainable development by promoting equal opportunities for all.
