Akwa Ibom State Governor, Pastor Umo Eno, has officially joined the All Progressives Congress (APC). This major political move took place on June 6, 2025, as he left his former party, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Soon after his defection, Governor Eno visited the Senate President, Senator Godswill Akpabio, at his home in Uyo. He was warmly received by Senator Akpabio and his wife, Dr. Unoma Godswill Akpabio.

The governor was not alone on this visit. He came along with some other senators and members of the Progressive Governors’ Forum. The group was led by Imo State Governor, Senator Hope Uzodinma.

This visit shows growing support for the APC in Akwa Ibom and marks a big change in the state’s political direction.
