Moment Fubara And Wike Supporters Clash In Elele

A violent fight broke out in Elele town, located in Ikwerre Local Government Area, as supporters of Governor Siminalayi Fubara clashed with those loyal to Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister, Nyesom Wike.

The confrontation happened around 7 AM at the Elele roundabout. A group led by Odinaka Wokoro, a former councilor whose election was recently nullified by the Supreme Court, gathered to sing solidarity songs for the governor. However, they ran into another group led by Iheanyi Wossa, a local security commander, leading to a violent clash.

Reports suggest the fight was connected to a dispute over who controls revenue collection in the area.

Following the incident, three people with gunshot wounds were taken to Madonna University Teaching Hospital for treatment. A senior doctor at the hospital, speaking anonymously, confirmed that all three had undergone surgery.

The situation in Elele remains tense, as political tensions in Rivers State continue to escalate.
