Peter Olasupo, a well-known broadcaster based in Ibadan, has been summoned by the International Criminal Police Organization (INTERPOL) over allegations of criminal defamation and cyberstalking. He has been asked to appear at INTERPOL’s office on January 13, 2025, for questioning.
The invitation, which Olasupo confirmed on his Facebook page, came after he received a letter from INTERPOL on December 30, 2024. The letter instructed him to report to INTERPOL’s headquarters at Force Headquarters, Garki, Abuja, at 11:00 AM. Upon receiving the letter, Olasupo’s boss quickly contacted a lawyer, who responded on his behalf. As a result, his appearance was rescheduled to January 13, 2025.
Olasupo expressed confusion over the situation, questioning who reported him to INTERPOL and why he was being summoned to Abuja. He raised concerns about the inconvenience of traveling to the capital, asking why he could not report to a local police office in Ibadan or Lagos instead. Despite these questions, Olasupo assured his fans that he would cooperate with the investigation and that this incident would not affect his dedication to his work or his professional reputation.
Though Olasupo does not have all the details about the investigation, he remains confident in his innocence and is committed to clearing up the matter. He also stated that he would fully cooperate with INTERPOL’s investigation.
