President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has officially opened the Lekki Deep Sea Port Road in Lagos. This road was built using Nigeria’s Tax Credit Scheme. At the event, he said his government is focused on building key roads all over Nigeria, especially in the northern part of the country.
Tinubu spoke about how important transport infrastructure is for the economy. He said roads being built under his “Renewed Hope Agenda” are meant to connect different regions, support trade, and boost productivity across Nigeria.
The President said that from Lagos to Kano, Warri to Zaria, the government is working on new roads to support development. He added that these roads should match Nigeria’s big goals and growth plans.
The newly built concrete road links the Lekki Deep Sea Port with inland areas and existing transport networks. It will help move goods more smoothly, reduce traffic, and cut transport costs. This is especially useful for transporting farm produce and goods made in factories.
This project was completed using a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) under the Tax Credit Scheme. This program allows private companies to invest in public projects and get tax relief. Tinubu praised this model as a good way to help the country grow with support from businesses.
President Tinubu also announced plans for more infrastructure projects in the North to reduce the development gap. Some of the key projects include the Kano–Kongolam Road (Section II), Kano–Kanwar–Danja–Hadejia Road, Yakasai–Zalli Road, and rural roads to help farmers reach city markets.
Tinubu said these roads will help farmers move their goods more easily, improve food availability, and link village economies to bigger markets across the country.
He also promised that roads like the Abuja–Kaduna–Kano Expressway, the Benin–Warri Road, and several federal bridges will be completed faster in the coming months.
Tinubu stressed that whether it’s the North, South, East, or West, the government is building roads that connect not just places but people’s futures.
The President ended his speech by saying that his infrastructure plans cover the whole country. These projects are meant to help everyone grow together, bring unity, and build a modern Nigerian economy.
