As Muslims across the world prepare to celebrate Eid-el-Kabir, Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State has advised everyone in the state to stay alert and be mindful of their safety during the festive season.
Governor Makinde gave this advice in a special message to mark the Eid-el-Kabir celebration. His message was signed and shared by his Chief Press Secretary, Dr. Sulaimon Olanrewaju.
The statement was made public on Thursday night and shared with the DAILY POST.
In his message, the governor urged Muslims to take the opportunity of this holy season to pray for Oyo State, Nigeria, and leaders at all levels. He believes that prayers play an important role in the country’s progress.
He also used the chance to thank the Muslim community in Oyo State for their continued support, prayers, and sacrifices that help improve the state.
Governor Makinde reminded all residents, not just Muslims, to be extra careful and stay safe while celebrating. He stressed that security is everyone’s responsibility.
He congratulated Muslims in Oyo State and around the world for witnessing another Eid-el-Kabir and wished them a joyful celebration.
The governor repeated his advice for everyone to stay watchful and alert, explaining that keeping the state safe should be a joint effort by all residents.
He also encouraged people to report anything suspicious. “If you see something, say something, and the government will take action,” he said.
