Women from Tiv communities in Taraba State have raised alarm over increasing attacks in parts of the state. The affected areas include Takum and Donga local government councils, where many families have been displaced.
The women, speaking through their leader Mrs. Msughshima Tersugh, said the violence has left many widowed and homeless. They explained that several homes have been destroyed, forcing residents to flee for safety.
According to them, the attacks have also affected their farmlands, which serve as their main source of livelihood. With the farming season approaching, many fear they may not be able to plant crops.
They appealed to Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Agbu Kefas to urgently provide security in the affected communities. They stressed that safety is necessary for them to return home.
The group warned that continued displacement could lead to hunger and a deeper humanitarian crisis. They noted that missing the planting season would have long-term effects on food supply.
They called on the government to act quickly by deploying security forces to restore peace. According to them, immediate intervention is key to protecting lives and ensuring survival.
