Gunmen attacked another community in Plateau State on New Year’s Eve, leaving at least seven people dead. Residents said the attackers arrived suddenly at night and caused panic in the area before fleeing. The incident has again raised fears about the growing insecurity in parts of the state.

Local sources explained that the victims were members of the community who were going about their normal activities before the attack happened. Security agencies were later alerted and have begun investigations to identify those responsible and prevent further violence.
