EPL: Mbeumo rejected Arsenal, three other clubs before joining Man Utd

Bryan Mbeumo reportedly rejected offers from four Premier League clubs — including Arsenal — before deciding to sign for Manchester United during the summer transfer window. The Cameroon forward chose Old Trafford as his new destination despite strong interest from other top EPL sides.

Mbeumo signed a five-year contract with Manchester United, with an option to extend for an extra year. His decision followed an outstanding 2024–25 campaign with Brentford, where he scored 20 goals and provided seven assists, helping the Bees secure a top-half finish under coach Thomas Frank.

According to reports from CentreDevils, Arsenal, Tottenham Hotspur, Liverpool, and Newcastle United all attempted to sign the 26-year-old attacker. However, Mbeumo opted for Manchester United as the best fit for his career ambitions and development.

Since arriving at Old Trafford, Mbeumo has been one of United’s standout performers under manager Ruben Amorim. His creativity, energy, and goal contributions have made him a crucial part of the team’s attacking setup this season, earning praise from fans and pundits alike.

Coach Amorim recently admitted that Manchester United will face difficulties when Mbeumo leaves for the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in December. The club will need to find a way to cope without their influential forward during that period.
