The family of veteran Nollywood actress Peju Ogunmola has clarified the cause of death of her only child, Ayomikun.

The movie industry and fans were recently shocked when news of his death spread on social media. Some reports claimed he died in the UK after a bathroom accident.

However, in an official statement, the family, through spokesperson Yemi Amodu, denied these claims. They confirmed that Ayomikun passed away in Ibadan after a short illness and has already been buried.

The statement said:

“It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved son, Sola Ayomikun Omobolanle (son of Sunday & Peju Ogunmola Omobolanle).

He was a precious child and rising star who brought joy to many. His loss is deeply felt by our family and everyone who knew him.”

“We want to make it clear that Sola did not die from a bathroom accident, as some false reports claim. He was ill for a short time and received excellent medical care.

Despite the doctors’ best efforts, he peacefully passed away at a hospital in Ibadan and has been laid to rest at Eternal Rest Home.”

The family urged the public not to believe the false stories circulating online, saying such rumors dishonor his memory and add pain to their grief.

They expressed gratitude for the love, prayers, and support from friends, family, colleagues, and well-wishers, which has brought them comfort during this difficult time.

“We pray that no family has to endure the loss of a child too soon. May God grant Sola eternal rest and give us strength to cope with this heartbreaking loss,” the statement concluded.
