Nollywood actress Laide Bakare has opened up about her personal approach to relationships, sharing strong opinions on boundaries and emotional attachment. In a recent conversation with fellow actress Ayo Adesanya, she explained that she does not allow men she is dating to visit her home unless marriage is involved.
According to her, she finds it inappropriate for a man to have easy access to a woman’s home without a serious commitment. She made it clear that this has never been part of her lifestyle and is something she firmly stands by.
Laide also revealed her perspective on emotions in relationships. Rather than saying she falls in love, she prefers to keep things more controlled. She explained that she chooses to like, appreciate, and respect her partner instead of becoming deeply emotionally attached.
She further emphasized that a man should take responsibility in a relationship, especially when it comes to providing space. In her view, the man’s home should be the primary place for visits, as it reflects his role and responsibility.
Interestingly, she noted that the size or status of the man’s home does not matter to her. Whether it is rented or modest, she still prefers it over allowing a man into her own space without a clear commitment like marriage.
