Popular Nigerian social media critic, VeryDarkMan, has commended officers of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command for assisting a mentally unstable woman who went into labour and successfully delivering her baby in Kwali Area Council.

He shared the story on his Instagram page, explaining that the incident occurred in the early hours of April 3, 2026, during a routine patrol by the Rapid Response Squad (RRS) deployed across the FCT ahead of the Easter celebrations. According to him, the officers were on patrol around Kwaita village when they suddenly heard cries coming from the roadside.

Upon moving closer, the officers found a woman in distress who had gone into labour. They quickly provided assistance while coordinating with relevant units. The FCT Police Command later confirmed that the officers were alerted around 12:30 a.m. and responded promptly to the situation.

The Police Public Relations Officer, SP Josephine Adeh, stated that the Officer-in-Charge of the Gender Unit at Kwali Division mobilised her team to the scene to ensure proper care. With their support, the woman safely delivered her baby. VeryDarkMan also praised the officers for their compassion and announced his intention to support the child’s education from primary school through university.
