Senator Orji Kalu urges Abia Govt to honour late Rev. Dr. Uma Ukpai

Former Abia State Governor and Senator representing Abia North, Orji Uzor Kalu, has urged the Abia State Government to honour the late evangelist, Rev. Dr. Uma Ukpai, ahead of his burial in Ohafia this week.

In a statement signed on Monday, Kalu described Rev. Dr. Ukpai as a spiritual icon whose teachings and humanitarian works positively impacted Nigerians and others abroad.

He stressed that recognising Ukpai’s legacy would immortalise his life of service, sacrifice, and dedication to humanity.

Kalu highlighted that the late cleric’s ministry shaped moral values in society, urging leaders to emulate his humility, discipline, and service.

The senator extended condolences to Ukpai’s family, church members, and associates, praying for strength during the burial preparations.

He called on the government to take concrete steps to preserve Ukpai’s contributions for future generations.
