The Chairman of Udu Local Government Area in Delta State, Mr. Olorogun Vincent Oyibode, has announced a dusk-to-dawn curfew in Oghior community. The decision follows rising security concerns and recent incidents that have unsettled residents in the area.
According to the council boss, the curfew will run from evening until early morning each day until normalcy is fully restored. He explained that the measure is meant to protect lives and property while security agencies work to address the situation on the ground.
Oyibode urged residents to cooperate with security personnel and obey the restriction for their own safety. He warned that anyone found violating the curfew hours would be dealt with according to the law, stressing that the government will not tolerate actions that threaten peace.
The local government chairman also appealed to community leaders and youths to support efforts aimed at restoring calm. He assured residents that the curfew would be reviewed once the security situation improves and peace returns to Oghior.
