Omawumi speaks on relationships with Dagrin, Dokta Frabz

Nigerian music star Omawumi has spoken honestly about her past connection with late rapper Dagrin and late producer Dokta Frabz. For years, rumours circulated that she and Dagrin were romantically involved, especially after they released their hit collaboration Thank God in 2009. Many fans at the time believed the chemistry in their music hinted at more than friendship.

However, in a new interview with Jay On Air, Omawumi cleared the air. She explained that she and Dagrin were never lovers, but shared a warm friendship. According to her, they enjoyed hanging out and he was someone she respected deeply. Omawumi described Dagrin as a “fantastic person” and said their relationship was purely platonic, shutting down long-standing romance speculation.

While she denied dating Dagrin, the singer confirmed that she did have a romantic relationship with late producer Dokta Frabz. She revealed that she was drawn to him because of his passion and talent for music. Omawumi said Frabz inspired her and often gave her confidence while recording. Their closeness in the studio led to a real relationship, and she credited him for introducing her to many industry personalities.

Speaking emotionally, Omawumi shared that her bond with Dokta Frabz was rooted in creativity, support, and shared love for music. Their time together was special to her, and she spent many hours in his studio during the early stages of her career.
