Rapper Snoop Dogg cancels New Zealand show after promoter was convicted of s3xual assault

Rapper Snoop Dogg has canceled his New Zealand concert just three days before it was scheduled. The decision came after the promoter was convicted of sexually assaulting his children’s babysitter.

The show was planned for the Due Drop Events Centre in Manukau, Auckland, on Saturday. On Wednesday, the promoter, 4ward Entertainment, announced the cancellation, saying it was due to “circumstances beyond our control.”

Local promoter Pato Alvarez, who organized the event, faced 25 sexual assault charges involving nine women. In 2023, he was convicted on two counts of indecent assault and attempted unlawful sexual connection. His identity became public after the Supreme Court of New Zealand rejected his request to keep it private.

After the news, many women called for boycotts of Alvarez’s events. Alvarez had claimed credit for arranging Snoop Dogg’s New Zealand show as part of his tour to Australia.
