3 Killed, One Injured In Fresh Plateau Attack After Tinubu’s Visit

Three people have lost their lives and one person sustained injuries following a violent attack in Nyamgo Gyel, located in Jos South Local Government Area of Plateau State. The incident happened on Friday evening when a group of youths was returning home from a mining site in Gero.

According to reports, the victims were riding on motorbikes around 7 p.m. when armed men suddenly opened fire on them. The attack caused panic, forcing others in the group, said to be about 15 people, to scatter in different directions to escape.

The deceased were identified as Luka Pam, Samuel Davou, and Deme Saidu. Community members described the incident as shocking and heartbreaking, especially as the victims were reportedly returning after observing Good Friday activities earlier in the day.

Local youth leaders expressed concern over the repeated nature of attacks in the area and called on security agencies to take urgent action. They also mentioned that suspicious movements had previously been reported around nearby locations, urging residents to remain alert while authorities step up surveillance.

Following the attack, only the police were said to have responded, evacuating the injured victim to a hospital. The incident has further heightened tension in the community, coming shortly after recent engagements between national leadership and affected families in Plateau State, where assurances were given that such violence would be prevented in the future.
