Chief Mathias Adum, who serves as the Principal Secretary to Ebonyi State Governor Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru, is preparing to marry his partner, Barr Oluchi Ekuma.
The couple will hold their traditional wedding on Thursday, August 14, 2025, in Ohaukwu Local Government Area of Ebonyi State.
The bride-to-be shared pre-wedding photos on Facebook on Wednesday, expressing her excitement.
She wrote in her post, “This special day is finally here, and we give God all the glory. We are happy to invite you to join our traditional wedding celebration.”
Adum, reportedly in his 70s, previously served as Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Matters in Ebonyi State and was also a member of the House of Representatives.
The upcoming marriage has attracted a variety of reactions, particularly regarding the notable age difference between the couple.
One Facebook user, Emmanuel Eneh, commented: “Chief Mathias Adum is set to marry Barr Oluchi Ekuma. This should inspire young men: work hard, earn well, and love knows no limits. Age doesn’t matter if you are financially stable.”
Another user, Solomon Okwu Nwojiji, shared the photos and wrote: “Love is beautiful and doesn’t follow age or social pressures.
Congratulations to Chief Mathias Adum and his lovely wife, Barr Oluchi. This union is truly blessed, and the couple’s combination is wonderful.”
