Bandits kill 38 hostages after collecting N50m ransom

In Banga village of Kaura Namoda Local Government Area, Zamfara State, tragedy struck after armed bandits killed 38 kidnapped villagers, even after collecting ₦50 million in ransom. The horrifying event has left the entire community in shock and mourning.

Local government chairman Mannir Haidara Kaura confirmed the incident in an interview, revealing that 56 people were taken during the attack. Out of the entire group, only 18 managed to return alive. The survivors are now receiving treatment in a hospital, while efforts are ongoing to comfort and support families of those killed.

One resident, Ibrahim Banga, explained that the attack happened months ago. The kidnappers demanded a million naira for each of the hostages. After several weeks, the community gathered ₦50 million and delivered the money to the bandits, hoping to get everyone back safely. Sadly, only 18 people were released.

According to the victims who returned, the remaining captives were killed one by one during their time in captivity. The survivors shared chilling accounts of how the killings happened in front of them, leaving deep emotional scars.

Ibrahim Banga appealed to both the federal and state governments to take urgent action. He called for military intervention in the area to help restore peace and rescue others still in captivity. The village, like many others in northern Nigeria, continues to suffer from violent attacks, kidnappings, and fear.

The people of Banga are now left heartbroken and are desperately pleading for help, protection, and justice.
