The German government, through the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ), together with the European Union, has brought together Nigerian media experts and civil society groups from Adamawa and Borno states to talk about social protection.
On Tuesday, at the start of a three-day meeting in Abuja, Gyanggyang Terkura Yimave, the Head of Social Protection at GIZ, explained that this project, which is partly funded by the EU, aims to create strong social protection systems that can respond to crises and help people long-term.
He said the SEPIN SUSI project supports the governments of Adamawa and Borno states to build social protection programs that include everyone, especially those who need it most.
Yimave added that social protection is not just about making policies but should be something all people can feel and benefit from. He said this training is important to help everyone understand why social protection is necessary and how they can help improve and put it into action.
According to DAILY POST, this event will continue from June 24th to June 26th, 2025.
