A group of young professionals from the Southeast known as the South East Progressive Ambassadors (SEPA) has urged the Igbo people to support President Bola Tinubu’s re-election in 2027. In a statement signed by the group’s convener, Mr. John CDO Ikeotuonye, and its secretary, Dr. Justin Ogoo Nwankwo, SEPA explained that it would be a disadvantage to the region if Tinubu doesn’t receive strong support from the Southeast.
They believe the people in the region are starting to accept President Tinubu’s message of “Renewed Hope” and are beginning to see the benefits of working together with him instead of standing against him.
The group is hopeful that by 2027, more people in the Southeast will fully support Tinubu and vote for him. They see the upcoming election as a key moment for the region to actively participate in national political planning.
SEPA believes that the best move for the Igbo community is to align with Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda and take their rightful place in Nigeria’s progress. They praised the president for tackling problems like how state governments handle public funds and for pushing efforts to improve transparency and development at the local government level.
SEPA is also calling on young professionals and forward-thinking individuals in the Southeast to come together and get involved in active politics. They want to move away from passive involvement and instead push for real progress in the region.
The group encouraged everyone who wants a better future for the Southeast to join forces with Tinubu and take part in rebuilding and reconnecting the region with the rest of the country.
They warned that the Southeast should not be caught off guard in 2027. According to them, it is important to embrace the Renewed Hope Agenda and build a solid political alliance with the president. SEPA pointed to key actions Tinubu has already taken that show his interest in the Southeast.
These include setting up the South East Development Commission, appointing special advisers focused on the region, giving major political positions to people from the zone, and visiting all Southeast states.
The group concluded by saying they trust Tinubu’s leadership and believe he has what it takes to fulfill his promises to the country. They are confident that he can fix the problems facing Nigeria and also bring positive changes to the Southeast.
