The Tinubu-led Federal Government has announced a ban on single-use plastics in all Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs). This decision aims to reduce plastic waste within government operations.
Minister of State for Environment, Iziaq Adekunle Salako, revealed the ban after the Federal Executive Council meeting chaired by President Bola Tinubu in Abuja. The move is part of the government’s strategy to better manage plastic waste nationwide.
Salako emphasized the widespread issue of plastic pollution in Nigeria, underscoring its environmental impact.
He said;
“This initiative demonstrates our commitment to addressing the triple threat of climate change, biodiversity loss, and pollution.”
