Tinubu Courageous To Remove Fuel Subsidy – Governor Alex Otti

Governor Alex Otti of Abia State has commended President Bola Tinubu for his economic reforms, particularly the removal of fuel subsidy, saying it will benefit Nigeria in the long run. Otti made the remarks while receiving Federal Commissioner Victor Ikeji at his office in Nvosi.

Otti described Tinubu’s decision on fuel subsidy as courageous, noting that while it may cause short-term pain, the policy will correct longstanding economic issues over time. He linked the move to previous positions he held and writings highlighting subsidy challenges.

The governor also expressed gratitude to Tinubu for appointing Chief Victor Ikeji as the Federal Commissioner representing Abia at the Federal Character Commission, describing it as a recognition for the state.

Otti assured that Ikeji would promote fairness, equity, and justice, core principles of the Commission, and would perform his duties diligently to benefit Abia State. He encouraged the commissioner to improve the office and uphold its standards.

Victor Ikeji, in turn, praised Governor Otti’s achievements and pledged to represent Abia State effectively while promoting balanced federal appointments. He committed to accountability, diligence, and purposeful service in his role.

Ikeji also said he had engaged with staff at the Commission’s Abia office in Umuahia to emphasize professionalism, welfare, and efficiency, aiming to reposition the office for greater effectiveness in line with its mandate.
