In a tragic incident in Magamar-Jibia town, Jibia Local Government Area of Katsina State, bandits killed a man named Aliyu Yahaya, 31, and kidnapped his wife, son, and three neighbors. The attackers also set fire to Aliyu’s home and body, leaving the community in shock.
According to Aliyu’s brother, Salisu Yahaya, the bandits stormed their home on Tuesday, August 13, 2024. They overpowered Aliyu, killed him, and set his body ablaze in his room.
The State Police spokesperson, ASP Abubakar Sadiq, confirmed the incident, saying that investigations are ongoing to track down the attackers and rescue the kidnapped victims.
This attack has caused an outcry in the community, with residents urging the government to step in and address the growing insecurity. They are also calling for a swift rescue of the victims to ease the trauma faced by their families.
One of the local leaders, Alhaji Sani Salisu, blamed the lack of security in the area for the attack and appealed for more security personnel to prevent future tragedies.
