Otti approves land for Air Force training base in Abia

Abia State Governor, Alex Otti, has approved 100 hectares of land within the Abia Airport Project site for the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) to establish a new training base. This expands on the initial 50 hectares earlier allocated for the project, responding to the Air Force’s request for additional space.

Governor Otti assured the NAF delegation, led by Air Vice Marshal Adebayo Kehinde, that the Abia Airport runway would soon be ready and that the contractor renovating the Air Force office would complete work before the end of April.

The Governor promised the Certificate of Occupancy for the land within 30 days and urged the Air Force to continue supporting the state in maintaining security and fighting criminality. He expressed appreciation for the Air Force’s presence, noting the strategic benefit to Abia.

Air Vice Marshal Kehinde commended Abia State for its strong security measures and noted that the state is ahead of other Southeastern states in maintaining law and order, emphasizing the importance of collaboration with the government.
