U.S. President Donald Trump has unveiled a $10 billion pledge to a new global initiative called the Board of Peace, describing it as a major effort to prevent conflicts and promote diplomacy worldwide. He said additional members of the group had already committed billions toward humanitarian and security plans tied to ongoing crisis zones.
Part of the funding, he explained, will support relief and reconstruction in the Gaza Strip, where years of war have caused heavy damage. Initial stabilization troops are expected to deploy to Rafah, which officials identified as a key location for rebuilding and restoring basic services.
Trump listed several countries — including Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Kazakhstan and Morocco — as contributors to the initiative’s financial and military plans. While the pledges amount to billions, estimates suggest roughly $70 billion will be required for full recovery efforts in Gaza.
He added that the project could strengthen global governance and even reinforce the role of the United Nations, noting that more than 40 nations and the European Union attended the meeting, though some joined only as observers. Trump predicted wider participation as the plan develops.
