Former U.S. First Lady Michelle Obama has revealed that she recently got 10 new ear piercings, adding to her existing collection.

Obama shared the news during a conversation with her brother, Craig Robinson, on their IMO Podcast.

During the episode, Obama explained that she had long considered getting additional piercings but never followed through.

“I have always thought about getting extra piercings in my ear and just never got around to it,” she said.

She noted that she previously got a second set of piercings before having children, but became too busy to maintain them. However, inspired by the younger people in her life and current jewelry trends, she ultimately decided to move forward with the idea.

“But nowadays, the young people in my life are doing more piercings — there’s just more beautiful adornments,” she said.

Obama showed off her new piercings, featuring small earrings arranged in a clustered, constellation-like pattern. “You see there’s more of a cluster, the constellation sort of look, twinkles that goes…” she added.

Robinson, reacting to the reveal, asked whether she had gotten five new piercings on each ear. Obama confirmed that she had — admitting she initially planned to “go in for a few” but ultimately opted for more.

“So, in one sitting, I got ten piercings,” she said.

When Robinson suggested the process must have been painful, Obama downplayed the discomfort.

“It actually was not that… it wasn’t bad at all,” she said.
