2026 UTME: No extension after Feb 26 deadline – JAMB

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has announced that there will be no extension of the registration deadline for the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME). According to the examination body, all candidates must complete their registration on or before February 26, 2026.

JAMB stressed that the deadline is final and advised candidates to take the process seriously to avoid last-minute issues. The board noted that extending deadlines often leads to congestion at registration centres and unnecessary pressure on candidates and officials.

The examination body also encouraged parents and guardians to ensure that prospective candidates complete their registration early. JAMB explained that early registration allows enough time to correct errors, verify details, and prepare adequately for the examination.

Reiterating its stance, JAMB urged candidates to rely only on approved registration centres and follow official guidelines. The board warned that failure to register before the deadline would automatically disqualify affected candidates from participating in the 2026 UTME.
