Former Manchester United star Patrice Evra has criticised Bruno Fernandes for what he described as “playing everywhere” instead of sticking to his assigned role. Evra said Fernandes often goes out of position, leaving gaps in midfield and affecting the team’s overall structure. He believes this habit makes it harder for United to maintain balance during tough matches.
Evra explained that while Fernandes is talented and hardworking, he sometimes tries to do too much at once. According to him, the midfielder’s constant roaming makes it difficult for teammates to understand where he is meant to be. He stressed that leaders on the field must maintain discipline and stay in their proper roles to guide the team effectively.
The former defender added that playing out of position reduces Fernandes’ impact, especially in big Premier League games. He noted that when the Portuguese star stays focused and sticks to his role, he becomes more dangerous and helps Manchester United play a more organised style of football. Evra urged him to simplify his game and trust his teammates more.
Fans have reacted to Evra’s comments, with some agreeing that Fernandes needs more positional discipline, while others think his freedom on the pitch is what makes him special. Regardless, Evra insisted that staying in position is key if Manchester United want better results this season.
