Trump’s threat: Don’t treat symptoms when disease is curable – Pan-Yoruba group tells Tinubu

A Pan-Yoruba socio-political group has advised President Bola Tinubu to confront Nigeria’s core challenges rather than focusing only on surface problems, following recent comments made by former U.S. President Donald Trump. The group warned that ignoring deeper national issues could worsen the situation, urging the government to act decisively while solutions are still possible.

According to the group, Trump’s remarks should be seen as a wake-up call for Nigerian leaders to prioritize stability, security, and national unity. They stressed that treating only the symptoms of Nigeria’s problems — such as insecurity, economic hardship, and political tension — will not bring lasting solutions. Instead, they urged Tinubu to address the key causes behind these issues to secure the country’s future.

The organization further called on the government to strengthen national institutions, promote peace among ethnic groups, and protect Nigeria’s sovereignty. They emphasized that proactive steps would prevent crises rather than reacting when they escalate beyond control.

The group concluded by urging the president to listen to constructive criticism, noting that real leadership is proven when long-term solutions are chosen over temporary fixes.
