Ukraine: I’ll sanction Russia – Trump tells NATO countries

US President Donald Trump has sent a serious message to NATO countries about the ongoing Russia-Ukraine war.

In a statement shared on his Truth Social page on Saturday, Trump said the war could be stopped if NATO members stop buying oil from Russia and also place tariffs on China for purchasing Russian petroleum.

Trump also claimed that China has strong influence over Russia. He explained that he is ready to sanction Russia, but only if NATO nations agree to act together.

According to him, NATO’s commitment to the war has not been strong enough. He said some countries’ continued purchase of Russian oil weakens NATO’s power in negotiations with Moscow. Trump added that he is prepared to act as soon as NATO members are ready.

He further suggested that NATO should impose tariffs of 50% to 100% on China. These tariffs, he said, could be lifted once the Russia-Ukraine war ends. He believes this move will weaken China’s grip on Russia.

The former president also claimed that the war would never have started if he had been in office. He described it as “Biden’s and Zelenskyy’s war” but said his main concern is to help end it and save lives, stressing that thousands of people were killed just last week.

Trump concluded by saying that if NATO takes his advice, the war will end quickly. If not, he warned that the United States would only be wasting its time, energy, and money.
