Super Eagles defender Ola Aina signs contract extension with Nottingham Forest until 2028

Super Eagles defender Ola Aina has agreed to stay at Nottingham Forest until 2028 by signing a new contract.

The Nigerian footballer had one year left on his old deal, but he chose to extend his stay with the club for another three years.

Aina played an important role last season, helping Forest finish in seventh place in the Premier League and qualify for the Europa Conference League play-offs.

He said he is very happy about the contract and feels like Nottingham Forest is his home. He also said he’s focused on getting ready for the new season.

The owner of Nottingham Forest, Evangelos Marinakis, praised Aina’s skills, strong character, and hard work, saying he represents the club’s values well.

He added that Aina has made a big impact at the club and they are excited to keep working with him to achieve great things.

Aina started his football journey at Chelsea before moving to Italian side Torino, and then joined Nottingham Forest for free two years ago.

He first signed with Forest in July 2023 on a one-year deal after leaving Torino, and he played often at left-back to help Forest avoid relegation and finish 17th in the league.

Forest used their option to extend his contract in May 2024. Aina has continued to be a key player in defense, now mostly playing at right-back under coach Nuno Espirito Santo.
