DJ Switch, whose real name is Obianuju Udeh, said the recent ECOWAS court decision on the #EndSARS protest was a victory.
DJ Switch mentioned that despite discouragement, she and other victims believed the evidence they provided would be undeniable.
The ECOWAS court ordered the Nigerian government to pay N2 million each to DJ Switch, Perpetual Kamsi, and Dabiraoluwa Adeyinka for rights violations.
DJ Switch shared that the emotional trauma and life changes they faced were tough, but they managed to get through it, and the court’s decision had a positive impact.
On her X handle, she expressed joy over the verdict, stating, “After a three-year battle, justice was served. We won!”
She acknowledged the lack of faith in Nigerian institutions but praised the ECOWAS court for upholding justice, despite jokes about its chairman, Bola Tinubu.
DJ Switch explained that legal cases often take time, especially when the Nigerian government used delays and excuses to frustrate them. Yet, they remained patient and persistent.
She noted the emotional toll and life changes they endured but thanked professional help for assisting them. The court’s verdict was a positive turning point.
Grateful to her lawyers and the judges, DJ Switch said the court’s decision vindicated them. She emphasized the importance of preventing corruption to serve the people.
Hoping the government would follow the court’s instructions, DJ Switch looked forward to pursuing other passions. She stated that the verdict documented the true criminals of October 20, 2020, in history.
