The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) recently carried out a successful operation that prevented planned attacks by Boko Haram terrorists in Borno State. Acting under Operation Hadin Kai, the NAF launched airstrikes targeting key terrorist hideouts in Tumbumma Baba and Chiralia, areas located in the southern Tumbuns. This decisive action followed credible intelligence about the group’s activities.
Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame, the Director of Public Relations and Information at NAF Headquarters, revealed that the airstrikes specifically targeted structures used by the terrorists for storing weapons and coordinating their operations. He further explained that the operation successfully dismantled plans for attacks aimed at disrupting Eid celebrations in the region.
During the operation, several terrorists were neutralized, and critical logistics facilities were destroyed, dealing a significant blow to the group’s capabilities. This proactive move ensured the safety of civilians and maintained stability during the festive period.
Air Commodore Ejodame reaffirmed the NAF’s commitment to safeguarding civilian lives and supporting the nation’s security goals. He described the preemptive airstrikes as a reflection of the Nigerian Air Force’s dedication to protecting the peace and security of the country.
