Victor Osimhen, a top striker for Nigeria’s Super Eagles, made history on Wednesday by helping Galatasaray win the Turkish Cup. He didn’t just play well—he also set two new records for the club.
The 26-year-old forward scored two goals in the final match as Galatasaray beat Trabzonspor 3-0 to lift the trophy.
By doing this, Osimhen became the highest-scoring foreign player for Galatasaray in a single season. His goals in the final took his total to 35 goals this season.
This amazing number broke the record that was previously held by former star Mario Jardel, who scored 34 goals during the 2000–2001 season.
Osimhen also became the first foreign player to score twice for Galatasaray in a Turkish Cup final. It was a big night for both him and the club.
The Nigerian striker joined Galatasaray on loan from the Italian team Napoli for one season. Since then, he’s become a fan favorite.
Now, with his excellent performance, top European clubs like Chelsea, Arsenal, Juventus, and Manchester United are showing interest in signing him this summer.
