Several terrorists have attacked Guto, Piyawe, and other communities in Bwari Area Council, Abuja, resulting in one death and the kidnapping of four people.

Reports indicate the incident happened on Sunday morning when over 30 terrorists, believed to be kidnappers, entered the area council.

Residents reported that the attackers surrounded the communities, fired guns randomly, and broke into homes, causing widespread fear and panic.

Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Public Relations Officer, SP Josephine Adeh, confirmed the attack in the Guto community.

She mentioned that police, along with the Department of State Services (DSS) and local hunters, tracked the attackers and engaged in a gunfight in Gauraka Forest, Niger State, near the FCT border.

The police spokesperson noted that two kidnapped victims, 15-year-old Mart Ojadi and 12-year-old Evelyn Chinaza, were rescued by security operatives.

She said,

“kidnappers were overwhelmed by the operatives, forcing them to scamper to safety through the nearby bushes with varying degrees of bullet injuries, and the two kidnapped victims were rescued unhurt”.
