Three native doctors have been charged in Anambra State for allegedly helping criminals with money rituals.
The accused are Onyebuchi Okocha (also called Onyeze Jesus), Chidozie Nwangwu (known as Akwa Okuko), and Ekene Igboekweze (also called Eke Hit). They were brought to the State High Court, where their charges were read to them in a crowded courtroom.
The charges include preparing money rituals and protective charms for criminals. The case was adjourned to April 11, 2025, by Justice Onuorah.
After the hearing, one of the lawyers for the defendants, Remigus Okoli, claimed that the state government was trying to keep the accused in custody without enough time to prepare their defense. Attempts to speak with the state government’s legal team were unsuccessful.
