2026 WCQ: We must stop Osimhen – FERWAFA media officer

Rwanda is preparing to face Nigeria in a crucial 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying match. The game, scheduled for Friday, is expected to be tough, especially with Nigeria’s star striker, Victor Osimhen, leading the attack.

Osimhen has been in excellent form this season, scoring 26 goals and providing five assists for Turkish club Galatasaray. His performances make him a key player for Nigeria, and Rwanda knows they must stop him to have a chance in the match.

Oliver Maurice, the media officer of the Rwanda Football Association (FERWAFA), has acknowledged Osimhen’s threat but remains confident in the team’s ability to compete.

“Osimhen is in top form, and we will do our best to stop him,” Maurice told SCORENigeria.

Despite Nigeria’s strong squad, Maurice emphasized that Rwanda is not afraid. He also pointed out that Nigeria has never won a match in Rwanda, which boosts their confidence.

With home support expected to be strong, Rwanda is hopeful of securing a positive result in the match. Fans are eager to cheer for the Amavubi as they fight for a place in the World Cup.
