A shocking incident took place in Times Square early Sunday, March 16, when a 45-year-old man was set on fire. The attack left him with severe burns on his face.
Video from the scene captured the victim in pain, covered in burns. Emergency responders rushed to help him, wrapping him in a blue blanket before taking him to an ambulance.
Dozens of police officers and paramedics were at the scene. Footage also showed officers talking to a person who appeared to be with the victim, dressed in a short dress and high heels.
The NYPD responded to reports of a man on fire at W. 41st Street and Seventh Avenue just before 4 a.m. Police believe someone set him on fire, but they have not yet identified a suspect.
It is unclear if the attack was random or targeted. The victim was taken to New York Presbyterian Cornell Hospital, where he is in stable condition.
As of now, no arrests have been made, and police are still investigating the case. Anyone with information is encouraged to contact authorities.
