Jigawa Governor reduces working hours for civil servants during Ramadan

The Jigawa State Government has announced a reduction in working hours for civil servants during the 2025 Ramadan fast. Governor Umar Namadi approved the adjustment to give employees more time for religious activities and family.

The announcement was made on March 4 by Muhammad Dagaceri, the Public Relations Officer of the State Head of Civil Service.

According to the new schedule, civil servants will now work from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM from Monday to Thursday. This is two hours less than the usual 5:00 PM closing time. On Fridays, work hours remain from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM, as is customary.

Dagaceri explained that this change aims to help workers prepare for the daily Ramadan fast-breaking and focus on prayers. He encouraged civil servants to use this period for spiritual growth and to pray for peace and prosperity in Jigawa State and Nigeria.

He also emphasized that the government wants to create a supportive work environment, especially during the holy month. This decision is expected to benefit workers by giving them more time for worship and quality moments with their families.

Civil servants in Jigawa are encouraged to take advantage of this opportunity to balance work and spiritual commitments during Ramadan.
