Uwa Aishatu Idris, daughter of the late Alhaji Gidado Idris, who served as Secretary to the Federal Government during General Sani Abacha’s rule, has given advice to men about marriage.

In a Facebook post, she warned men who consider themselves gentlemen—those who would never hit a woman—to be cautious when choosing a wife. She emphasized that if a man knows he won’t fight back, he should avoid marrying a woman who is abusive.

“If you know you can’t hit a woman (You are a gentleman), please don’t marry a woman that can hit you. Don’t risk your life,” she wrote.

Her message highlights the importance of choosing a partner wisely to avoid toxic and abusive relationships. Marriage should be built on mutual respect and understanding, not fear and violence.
