Mudashiru Obasa, who represents Agege Constituency I, has been re-elected as the Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly. His return comes after Mojisola Meranda stepped down from the position.
Meranda had been Speaker for just seven weeks after Obasa was removed by lawmakers through impeachment. However, Obasa dismissed his impeachment as improper, saying it did not follow the correct procedure.
His re-election happened on Monday after Noheem Adams, a former Majority Leader and representative of Eti-Osa Constituency I, nominated him for the position.
With Obasa back as Speaker, the Lagos State House of Assembly enters another phase of leadership.
