The National Agency for Food and Drug Administration (NAFDAC) will reopen drug sections in Ariaria International Market, Eziukwu Market, and Tenant Road Market in Abia State today, February 26.
These markets were sealed last week due to alleged involvement in selling fake and expired drugs.
NAFDAC decided to unseal the markets after discussions with Governor Alex Otti. The governor has warned that anyone caught producing or selling fake drugs will face serious consequences.
NAFDAC has been cracking down on fake and adulterated drugs across Nigeria. Several truckloads of such drugs have already been removed from markets in Aba, Onitsha, and Lagos.
