Fatal Motor Accident Claims Eight Lives In Imo 

A tragic accident on Sunday in Ngor-Okpala, Imo State, led to the deaths of eight people. The crash involved a Toyota Camry (EPE 541 JO) and a Hyundai Santa FE (AAA 212 CD) at Amala, a community in the area.

Police officers from Ngor-Okpala Divisional Headquarters quickly arrived at the scene. According to the State Police Command spokesperson, DSP Henry Okoye, officers removed the victims’ bodies and took them to the mortuary. The vehicles were also cleared from the road to prevent traffic congestion.

The police have started investigating the cause of the accident and are working to identify the victims’ families. DSP Okoye mentioned that they have gathered photo evidence to help in the investigation.

Reacting to the tragic incident, the Imo State Police Commissioner, CP Aboki Danjuma, warned drivers about the dangers of reckless driving and speeding. He emphasized that these are major causes of road accidents.

He urged all motorists to follow traffic rules, drive carefully, and be patient on the road to prevent such tragedies.

“Every driver has a responsibility to protect their life and the lives of other road users by obeying traffic laws,” he said.

The police also asked the public for help in identifying the victims. Anyone with useful information should visit the nearest police station.
