In Ekiti State, the lifeless body of a motorcycle taxi rider was discovered five days after he went missing. He was a well-known member of the Okada Riders Association in Iworoko-Ekiti and Ado-Ekiti.

Reports indicate that the 38-year-old man left home early one Tuesday morning but never returned. His body was found dumped at Road 10 junction in Iworoko-Ekiti on Saturday, May 25, 2024.

His family had reported him missing and searched various police stations in Ado-Ekiti before his body was found. The incident has sparked fear and concern among residents and students, especially among his fellow riders.

The Chairman of the Commercial Motorcycle Riders Association, Mr. Kunle Asaolu, expressed deep concern over the recurring attacks on their members. He urged security agencies to intensify efforts to protect Okada riders and their property.

In response to the escalating violence, Okada riders held emergency meetings with security agencies to find solutions. These attacks have been happening since February, with at least 23 riders losing their lives in mysterious circumstances.

The State Police Command confirmed the incident, highlighting the urgent need for action to ensure the safety of Okada riders in Ekiti State.
