The Kano State Government is in mourning following the sudden death of Engr. Ahmad Ishaq Bunkure, the newly appointed Special Adviser on Works to Governor Abba Yusuf.

Engr. Bunkure passed away in Egypt on January 8, 2025, just a day after his swearing-in ceremony on Monday, January 6, 2025. His passing was confirmed by the Governor’s spokesperson, Sunusi Bature Dawakin Tofa.

Governor Abba Yusuf expressed his deep sadness over the loss, describing Engr. Bunkure as a dedicated and skilled professional whose contributions were expected to play a vital role in the administration’s plans for development.
